Frontal View Human Face Detection and Recognition

چکیده
This paper is about an attempt to unravel the classical problem of automated human face recognition. A near realtime, fully automated computer vision system was developed to detect and recognise expressionless, frontalview human faces in static images. In the implemented system, automated face detection was achieved using a deformable template algorithm based on image invariants. The natural symmetry of human faces was utilised to improve the efficiency of the face detection model. The deformable template was run down the line of symmetry of the face in search of the exact face location. Once the location of the face in an image was known, this pixel region was extracted and the test subject was recognized using principal component analysis, also known as the eigenface approach.

Collaborative Face Orientation Detection in Wireless Image Sensor Networks
Most face recognition and tracking techniques employed in surveillance and human-computer interaction (HCI) systems rely on the assumption of a frontal view of the human face. In alternative approaches, knowledge of the orientation angle of the face in captured images can improve the performance of techniques based on non-frontal face views. In this paper, we propose a collaborative technique f...
متن کاملConstruction of Frontal Face from Side-view Images using Face Mosaicing
In this paper, a method for fully automatic construction of frontal 2D face image of an individual is described. This frontal image is constructed from his/her available side-view images using face mosaicing. Firstly an automatic eye-brow detection algorithm is used to detect the eye-brow along with its position i.e. left or right. By this result it is easier to detect whether the given image i...

Finding human faces automatically in an image is a dif cult yet important rst step to a fully automatic face recognition system This paper presents an example based learning approach for locating unoccluded frontal views of human faces in complex scenes The technique represents the space of human faces by means of a few view based face and non face pattern prototypes At each image location a va...
متن کامل3D Model Based Pose Invariant Face Recognition from a Single Frontal View
This paper proposes a 3D model based pose invariant face recognition method that can recognize a face of a large rotation angle from its single nearly frontal view. The proposed method achieves the goal by using an analytic-to-holistic approach and a novel algorithm for estimation of ear points. Firstly, the proposed method achieves facial feature detection, in which an edge map based algorithm...
متن کاملSupport vector machine based multi-view face detection and recognition
Detecting faces across multiple views is more challenging than that in a fixed view, e.g. frontal view, owing to the significant non-linear variation caused by rotation in depth, self-occlusion and self-shading. To address this problem, a novel approach is presented in this paper. The view sphere is separated into several small segments. On each segment, a face detector is constructed. We expli...
